Carcassonne Day 4 & Chateau Pennautier

The Chateau

We caught a local bus out to the next village (5 kms) to the Chateau and treated ourselves to a fancy lunch at their vineyard. The courses were paired with their best wines.

The starter – Red mullet with sweet spice emulsion on diced courgettes.

Diane’s Main – Roasted fish, mashed beans, peppers and herring dressing

Susan’s Main – Olive encrusted lamb chops, grenaille potatoes with baked courgettes and aubergine

Cafe Gourmand – coffee with Strawberry & Lychee Mascarpone; Chocolate pudding with white chocolate & basil mousse and apricot marmalade; Melon minestrone with mint syrup and green lemon sorbet
