Dubai – Burj Al Arab
Sunday 8th October
We took a few hours of respite in the afternoon before venturing out again to take a tour of the Burj Al Arab hotel. It’s a spectacular building. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision was a building that would be as instantly recognizable as the Sydney Opera House or the Eiffel Tower: an international symbol of Dubai.
The hotel is built on reclaimed land and is 321 mts tall (amongst the tallest buildings in the world). It has 199 suites.

…and at $40,000 per night I guess I am not staying here anytime soon!
