We made an early start to drive through Baton Rouge, crossing the state line into Texas.
I have often heard the saying “everything is BIGGER in Texas”, well I am about to disagree. Everything in the US is BIG. Traveling between New Orleans and Houston today proved that. We crossed some very long stretches of water, swamp and low lying country today and the elevated concrete roads that are built across them stretch for mile after mile (multiple lanes in both directions!!!). Then when it comes to a river, well they then build an even bigger bridge structure similar to the Brisbane Story Bridge except it is about 5 times bigger.
