-14C to -1C fine and sunny
We are staying in cabins on the south rim of the canyon so we awoke to a spectacular view across to the north rim from our cabin at the Bright Angel Lodge. With the sun peeking through at 7:30am and -14C, I donned 4 layers of clothing and braved the cold to take some early morning sunrise images. The day, although very cold, was crystal clear with no wind and therefore the perfect day to take a helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon. What an amazing 50 minutes. We spent the afternoon walking along the rim near the Village. It had warmed up to almost -1C so we could stay out for much longer to explore along the snowy/icy paths.
As a special treat we dined out at the El Tovar Dining Room. My booking made some months ago paid off as we were seated by the windows right on the edge of the canyon. The food was fabulous too.
