The early morning risers trekked up a mountain in search of the birds of paradise. They were rewarded. Me I stayed in bed. The trek up a mountain, in the jungle in the dark was a bit more than I wanted to risk with my foot.

Today we crossed the Equator with an unusual ceremony on deck that involved passengers kissing a fish and being dunked in the swimming pool. Feature image by S. Bradley, Heritage Expeditions.
