Paris Day 5
Wednesday 20th September
Our outing today was up to Montmartre. It’s a large hill on the northern side of Paris and historically home to artists, the Basilica of Sacre-Coeur (Sacred Heart), and the nightclub district, which includes Moulin Rouge. Some of the artists who lived and worked in the area included Monet, Renoir, Degas, Picasso, Van Gogh and de Toulouse-Lautrec.
We visited the Basilica.
We caught a ride on a little tourist train around the streets to catch some of the other sights and sounds.
We dined out this evening – the food was delicious. I had a Chateau Filet with truffle sauce (devine) accompanied by potatoes stuffed with tiny pieces of jambon in a creamy filling. The Bourbon Vanilla Crème Brûlée rounded out the delicious meal.
