Cambrian, Central Otago
Tuesday 24th March 2026
We are staying with Tricia Batkins in Cambrian for 5 days. Tricia has recently written a book (which turned into 2 volumes) on the history of Cambrian, the place she grew up in and still lives today, when not travelling the world. On our first morning she asked “what would you like to do today?” My reply “I would like to see the places you described in your book”, and that’s what we did. Cambrian only has one street (a road really), so we proceeded to wander, pop in and visit neighbours, drink coffee, chat, collect fresh produce for our dinner that evening and ring the local school bell.
