Sean was off early to work. Susan and Carmel, after precise instructions from Sean set out to master the art of MRT (Singapore train system) travel. We are pleased to report that we both passed with flying colours and spent the princely sum of $2.70 each on travel for the entire day.
However our first port call following our inbound journey was to the Swissotel Stamford Hotel where Carmel and John had stayed previously. We were both ready for a cup of coffee in these luxurious surroundings, however nothing could really prepare us for the subsequent bill – $13.00 each for a coffee.
We then explored the city and found our way to Orchard Road. The art scene is outstanding. The architecture is unusual and everything is clean, tidy and well ordered.
