I attended the Spring Conference hosted by the Self Storage Association of USA at the Marriott in Canal Street.
On Wednesday night we did manage to get 2 tickets to go and see Chrissie Hynde and The Pretenders provide the support act for Stevie Nicks in concert at the Smoothie King Centre. What a fabulous concert. She is by far and away the most outstanding artist I have every seen. She took the time to “bring her audience along on a journey” for every song she played. She did perform some of her Fleetwood Mac hits, but other songs she had either written or recorded over the past 3 to 4 decades and was only dusting them off for this tour. One song in particular she had written over 11 years ago about Hurricane Katrina. This was the first time she had ever performed it to an audience and she never intends to perform it live again.
Thursday night I attended the SSA St Patricks Day party before joining Geoff from dinner at another of Dickie Brennan’s restaurant – The Steakhouse. We thoroughly enjoyed a Chateaubriand.
St Patricks Day – Friday afternoon the conference wound up and we were able to go out and do some more exploring before finding our way to Bourbon Street and the wildest street party. Apparently this is what Bourbon Street is often like – wow, it was mad!!
