Madang, Papua New Guinea Day 20

The final day of our Indonesian Explorer voyage. We motored into Madang Harbour and waited patiently whilst our luggage was loaded onto several buses for our charter flight to Cairns.

The Madang Airport was an interesting experience. Sitting on the floor was the most comfortable way to wait for the long overdue charter flight. Once we made it through customs we sat on chairs in an aircraft hangar where we enjoyed fresh coconut water supplied by the airport staff wielding machetes, as these are the most effective way to cut the tops off coconuts.
