Sunday 7th September. Today we had a relatively early start to transfer to Los Angeles. It was just over an hour on a relatively quite freeway to downtown Hollywood and the Hotel Roosevelt which is right on Hollywood Boulevard. We took a stroll along the Hollywood Walk of Fame where hundreds of stars have been recognized over the years. Just outside our hotel was a pavement star for Joan Rivers which had been turned into a memorial following her death just a couple of days ago. We walked Sunset Strip and the shopping strip of Melrose Place. Later on we traveled out to Santa Monica Pier to catch the sunset. It took an hour, this city just goes on forever. We found the finishing point of Route 66. We are finding there is a strong Mexican influence on the menus so tonight we enjoyed Mojitos, Mexican beer and great Mexican fish dishes.
