Conzano and Pinocchio

There’s an extraordinary collection of all things Pinocchio in Conzano.  It is housed in the Vidua House Museum.  I’m not able to establish why this collection has been put together here.   The author of the Pinocchio book series was Carlo Lorenzini, although he wrote under his pen name Carlo Collodi. Collodi being the village where his mother was born. So he is not native to Conzano. Although Italy does seem to have an ongoing love affair with Pinocchio.
