Bath to Bowness-on-Windermere

Today was a travel day. We drove from Bath on the M5 & M6 to the Lakes District. We’ve checked into a good old fashioned English accommodation house, where everyone is addressed as Sir or Madam.

It was such a great find and certainly not something we expected. Lindeth Howe was the former home of Beatrix’s mother and as part of its new life as a hotel (since 1983) they have decorated it in this style to pay tribute to the author (she bought Lindeth Howe for her mother in 1915). In fact Lindeth Howe was the property rented by the Potter’s as a holiday home when Beatrix was younger.
