Central Otago Rail Trail. Ophir – Oturehua Day 3

Sunday 29th March 2026

We set off at around 9am and despite the padded cycle pants and the gel bicycle seat I still have a sore backside!! We cycled back to Omakau and onto Lauder and into Oturehua and our lodgings for the evening at Inverlair Lodge. We covered 43 kms today. We crossed the Poolburn Gorge Bridge and negotiated a few tunnels.

We enjoyed the hot tub before catching a lift into Oturehua and the local pub for a hearty meal.
