Kodia Island, Indonesia Day 7

Friday 3rd October 2025

This morning, we departed Heritage Adventurer at 0830 hours to visit Indonesia’s remote Kodia Island. It was only the third visit for Heritage Expeditions to this very friendly village. We enjoyed a friendly welcome, which included a performance by the local children.

We were then invited to explore the village and visit the local school. Walking down the lanes between houses, we observed women weaving traditional ikat, the beautiful fabric woven with a loom. Whilst Robyn and I continued to explore the village, Geoff and Bryan went on another snorkelling session.

Once on board again we met up with our travelling companions for cocktails and enjoyed talks by Tropi on the fishes of Indonesia whilst Steve, our photographer, gave us an interactive lecture on travel photography.
