Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia Day 4
Tuesday 30th September 2025
Following check-out from the hotel we split into groups for our first day of activities. John and I opted for the cultural tour, starting with a visit to a Balinese Temple in Ubud. The artisan village was an opportunity to watch silversmiths and painters work their trade while several women prepared floral offerings for an upcoming wedding. Lunch was at a great restaurant, built onto the face of a cliff! A sumptuous meal looking over rapids through a ravine below was just the break we needed before one more stop on our cultural tour — to discover the art of Batik. One of the artists offered to paint the sleeve of my polo shirt – it looks great.

Meanwhile Geoff, Maureen, Brian and Robyn went to the cooking class, where they certainly enjoyed the meal following their efforts in the kitchen.

Later in the afternoon we all met up again at the port when it was time to board our new home on the Heritage Adventurer. It started with welcome drinks, drills and inductions in preparation for our life at sea for the next 17 days.
