Tuesday 7th January 2020
Today we checked out of the Roosevelt, said goodbye to Hollywood and continued our Californian adventure north along the coast, but not before visiting Santa Monica Pier and the official end of Route 66.
Our drive hugged the coastline most of the way, although on some occasions we trekked through vast farming areas for vegetables, fruit and grapes. There were armies of labourers in the fields picking strawberries and pruning grape vines by hand.
Our stop for the night was Cambria – right on the beach.
