Jurassic Coast Day 2
Wednesday 1st July 2026
Our day started out in Lyme Regis with a fossil tour. Casey, our guide is a paleontologist and a geologist. His opening session explained why the fossils are so prolific in this area and what fossils had been found to date. By to date, I mean the past 200 years and in particular the collecting of fossils by Mary Anning and her father and brother.

Eventually we set off down the beach and went in search of our own fossils. We all managed to find one small fossil before retreating to one of the local restaurants for some lunch.
