The Earth Model you can print

This model is about the size of a tennis ball and when it is 3d printed you can pull it apart to see what makes up the earth.

  • The inner core – solid iron and nickel
  • The outer core – liquid iron and nickel that is a the biggest electrical motor on earth
  • The mantle – protects us from the extreme heat in the earth
  • The crust – where we live is about the thickness of an apple skin at that scale.

Fun fact – the moon does not orbit the earth centre.

It orbits midway between the gravitational masses which happens to be in the mantle and the model shows how that “tidal” pull works.
