Jesus looked at the water and it blushed
This is a phrase I have borrowed.
It is normally attributed to Lord Byron or some other literary genius over the past couple of hundred years.
But the myth of the writing is worth re-telling.
It goes like this;
In a stuffy Oxford/Cambridge exam, the students dipped quills in ink and started the three hour essay describing the first miracle of Jesus Christ. The wedding feast of Cana, when he turned water into wine.
There was much to express in prose and of course the need to develop a theme and atmosphere for the occasion.
But one student sat stoic for the first hour, and the second. Others noticed, even the examiners.
The third hour trawled by and when the 5 minute gong was sounded, he picked up his quill and wrote;
“Jesus looked at the water and it blushed”
That is my version. If you google it you will find a longer phrases, but I like short expressions, and this is a good one.
